The key to living a contented life is to let the Lord “tune” our emotions until they are “pitched” to His perfect will. Once we are “tuned” in we will discover that our emotions are now based on who He is – His immutable character, His faithfulness – rather than on our circumstances. Circumstances change but God is unchanging, forever the same.
“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”

Lord Jesus, the difficulties we face often tempt us to despair. Help us to focus on Your sufficiency rather than on our circumstances. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
