Suffering is not a riddle to be solved, but a mystery to be entrusted to the wisdom of God. Trying to figure out why tragedy strikes one family while another family is spared is an exercise in futility. It’s like a dog chasing his tail. Relief comes only when you surrender your situation to the Lord and trust Him to redeem it.

‘“Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?’ ‘Neither this man nor his parents sinned,’ said Jesus, ‘but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.’”

— John 9:2-3

Lord Jesus, I surrender my suffering to you asking only that the work of God be displayed in my life. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
