As Christians we contend with three primary enemies—the world, the flesh, and the devil. When we speak of the world, we are referring to the world system—its culture, its values, its way of doing things. We are often tempted to conform to the world’s way in order to fit in, to succeed, but we must not yield to that temptation for “…if anyone loves the world—that is if anyone conforms to the world—love for the Father is not in them (1 John 2:15). Romans 12:2 says,
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Lord Jesus renew our minds and deliver us from our inordinate need to be accepted by the world. Amen.
