What will I do if I am suddenly stricken with a serious or even life-threatening illness? Only God knows, but I have purposed in my heart to praise the Lord for the promise of healing (see Psalm 103:1–3, Isaiah 53:5, and James 5:14–15). And if I am not healed, I am determined to praise Him for the promise of His presence (Joshua 1:5 and Matthew 28:20). And when I face death I am determined to praise Him for the promise of eternal life (John 11:25). Truly, I am determined to praise Him at all times and in all things for He is worthy of praise!
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”
— Philippians 4:4 (NIV)
Lord Jesus, above all else I ask You to give me a thankful heart that I might praise you all the days of my life. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
