By nature I am an optimistic person but when I look around it is nearly impossible to find any reason for hope. There’s an unprecedented heat wave in the northwest and wildfires are burning hundreds of thousands of acres in Oregon. The pandemic is surging again. There is political chaos around the globe. Economic disaster is on the horizon. There’s moral degeneracy and a spiritual vacuum. God is our only hope.

God, hear our cry. We have made a mess of things. Hear our prayers and help us, oh Lord we pray. Amen.
