How do you feel when you have narrowly escaped the tempter’s snare? Do you feel victorious, or do you feel embarrassed? Let me speak for myself. Instead of feeling thankful or victorious I often feel guilty. I find myself thinking what kind of man am I if I can be tempted to do such a thing? What does this say about me? What hidden sin lurks in the dark and unexplored corners of my heart? If the tempter cannot get us to yield to temptation, he will try to choke us with condemnation. Don’t fall for his lies. Remember temptation is not a sin.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit.”
— Romans 8:1 (KJV)
Lord remind us that temptation is not a sin. Amen.
