Yesterday I told you Aron Ralston suffered a freak accident while mountain climbing alone. A huge boulder shifted and trapped his hand. The only way to save his life was to cut off his hand. I’ve known men trapped just like Aron Ralston—not in some remote canyon in Utah, but in the habits of the flesh. When you get in that deep, getting out requires drastic action. For Aron, it was his arm or his life. What will it be for you? Will you cut off every addictive behavior and live, or will you continue in your bondage and die?
“So if your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. Better to enter heaven crippled than to be in hell with both of your hands and feet.”
— Matthew 18:8 (TLB)
Lord Jesus, help us to cut off every addictive behavior. Amen.
