Does she grieve? Of course she does. Is she afraid? Sometimes. Especially when she thinks of her three grandchildren growing up without her, but she refuses to live in fear. If she had been given a choice, she would not have chosen divorce or cancer, but in the midst of it she has found strength in God and an appreciation for life unlike anything she has ever known. As a consequence, she is joyously alive, howbeit in the face of great adversity.

Lord Jesus, help us to seize the moment, to live every hour to the very fullest no matter how difficult our situation. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
