Doubt is not necessarily a bad thing as much as it is a real thing. We should always be careful to distinguish between doubt and unbelief. Doubt is an involuntary emotion while unbelief is an act of the will. Doubt inevitably yields to the power of His presence, as in the case of Thomas who cried, “My Lord and my God!” Unbelief, on the other hand, hardens into rebellion. The unbeliever chooses not to believe regardless of the evidence.
“But despite all the miraculous signs Jesus had done, most of the people still did not believe in him.”
–John 12:37 (NLT)
Lord Jesus, I do believe. Help me to believe more. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
