You cannot read the New Testament without realizing that Jesus had a special ministry to women. He understood their unique needs. He felt their longings, sensed their pain, and shared their sorrows. With compassion he met them at the point of their need. Mary Magdalene is a case in point. The religious leaders considered her a lost cause. But Jesus saw things differently. Instead of giving up on her, He redeemed her and made her the first missionary of the resurrection.

“After Jesus rose from the dead early on Sunday morning, the first person who saw him was Mary Magdalene, the woman from whom he had cast out seven demons.”

— Mark 16:9 (NLT)

Lord Jesus, I am praying for a desperate woman who has been abused. Hold her close to Your heart and heal her wounded soul. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
