Abraham lied. David was guilty of adultery and murder. Peter denied Jesus three times (Luke 22:54-62). Paul was a blasphemer, a persecutor of the church, and a violent man (1 Timothy 1:12-15). If God could forgive them, if He could use them in spite of their blatant sinfulness, then there’s hope for us no matter what we have done. Let the example of the apostle Paul encourage you. He writes,
“The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.”

Lord Jesus, pour out your love and grace abundantly on the man or woman who feels all hope is gone. Forgive their sins and restore their lives. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
