The Lord doesn’t ask us to surrender to an assignment. He asks us to unconditionally surrender to Him, to trust our future to Him without knowing our assignment. That feels a little like signing a blank contract, or one I haven’t read, but I know I can trust Him. Once we surrender to Him, once we say “Yes,” to Him, saying “yes” to whatever assignment He gives us is almost automatic. The big “Yes” to Him takes care of all the little “yeses.”
“I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”
— Acts 20:24 (NIV)
Lord Jesus we surrender to You praying, “Not our will but Your will be done.” Amen.
