Someone has imagined Jesus and Satan having a conversation. Satan had just come from roaming through out the earth and he was gloating. “I just caught a world full of people down there.”
“What are you going to do with them?” Jesus asked.
Satan replied, “I’m going to teach them how to marry and divorce, how to hate and abuse each other. I’m going to teach them how to invent guns and bombs and make war!”
“And what will you do when you are done with them?” Jesus asked.
“I’ll kill them,” Satan boasted.
“How much do you want for them?” Jesus asked.
“You don’t want those people,” Satan scoffed. “They worthless.”
“How much?” Jesus asked again.
Satan looked at him and sneered, “All your blood and your life.”
“Done!” said Jesus. Then He paid the price.
“For you know that it was not with perishable things…that you were redeemed… but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.”
— 1 Peter 1:18-19 (NIV)
Lord Jesus, I thank You for shedding Your precious blood and laying down Your life to redeem me. Help me to live a life worthy of Your sacrifice. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
