Thirteen years pasted between the time Joseph’s brother sold him into slavery and the day Pharaoh made him the second highest ruler in Egypt. Although those thirteen years can be summed up in sixty seconds they must have seemed an eternity to Joseph. I mention that because most of us are impatient by nature. If our prayers are not answered in short order our faith begins to falter. We are tempted to give up when the going gets tough. Don’t! Give God time to work out His purposes in your life. That’s what Joseph did.
“But God was with him and rescued him from all his troubles.”

Lord Jesus, be with us as You were with Joseph. Rescue us from all our troubles. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
