There are those who claim that the resurrection was just an elaborate hoax perpetrated by His disciples. Their claims are hardly credible. Following Jesus’s crucifixion His followers were completely disillusioned. Even after Peter and John visited the empty tomb and Mary Magdalene claimed to have spoken with the risen Lord, they continued to cower behind locked doors in hopelessness and fear. So what turned those despairing disciples into fearless witnesses of the Resurrection who were willing to lay down their lives rather than deny Jesus? The literal, bodily resurrection of Jesus!
