Scripture teaches us that children are a heritage of the Lord and when we become parents, God entrusts us with a sacred charge. Should we fail here, all of our other achievements will be somehow diminished; but with God’s help we need not fail. With God’s help we can love our children unconditionally, discipline them consistently and train them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
“Train a child in the way he should go,
— Proverbs 22:6
and when he is old he will not turn from it.”
Lord, thank You for the gift of children. Empower us to teach them Your ways that they may grow up to become men and women of God. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
