Although it is nearly impossible for us to admit it, most of the trouble in our lives is of our own making. Denying that may be less painful in the short run, but in the end we pay a terrible price. As long as we blame someone else, we cut ourselves off from the grace of God that forgives and heals. We are able to get on with our lives only when we stop blaming others, take responsibility for our actions, and confess our sins.
“Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven,
— Psalm 32:1
whose sins are covered.”
Lord Jesus, it is my fault. I have sinned against You and those I love most. Forgive me. Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
