One of the characteristics that set Daniel apart was his commitment to prayer. “Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed…” (Daniel 6:10 NIV). His political enemies attempted to destroy him by persuading the king to pass an irrevocable law, making it illegal to pray to anyone except the king. Anyone who violated that law would be put to death in the lion’s den. So what did Daniel do? “He got down on his knees and prayed… just as he had done before” (Daniel 6:10 NIV).
