The four leprous men (2 Kings 7:3) were outcasts, the very off scouring of society, the lowest of the low, the least of the least. They had no influence, no political clout, no powerful friends, no wealthy benefactors…nothing. Nothing, that is, except an indomitable spirit, an unwillingness to do nothing, an unwillingness to just sit there and die. They were willing to risk ridicule, rejection, even death, but they were not willing to just sit there and do nothing! What about you? Are you going to throw in the towel or are you going to step out in faith?
“Why stay here until we die?”
— 2 Kings 7:3 (NIV)
Lord Jesus, give me the courage to risk failure and rejection rather than do nothing. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
