Peter and John were entering the temple courts when a crippled beggar accosted them. “Then Peter said, ‘Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.’ Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk” (Acts 3: 6-8).

Some have called what Peter did a “faith command.” I consider it an example of the “gifts of healing” mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:9. However we describe it Jesus is the one who did the healing!

“Peter said to him, ‘Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you!.. And he was healed instantly”.

— Acts 9:33-34 (NLT)

Lord Jesus, increase our faith and activated the gifts of healing in and through us. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
