As a young boy I spent four or five nights a week with my widowed grandmother. After dark she lit the kerosene lamp and told me the story of her life. Those memories are so special that I decided to recreate them for my grandson. I lit the kerosene lamp and began to share the story of my life. In short order he lost interest.

What was the problem?

I wasn’t speaking his language. He speaks a digital, high tech, language. If I am going to relate to him I will have to learn his language.

The point I am trying to make is this: If we are going to reach this generation for Christ we are going to have learn their language.

“…We hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!”

— Acts 2:11 (NIV)

Lord Jesus, help us be willing to learn this high tech language so we can reach this generation with the gospel. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
