Take a moment and reflect on the past year. For most of us it was probably a mixed bag—some good things and some things that weren’t so good, at least that’s the way it was for me. At this time last year, I was grieving the death of my wife and I would be for many more months. Yet I was thankful too. In His mercy the Lord took Brenda home peacefully and with a minimum of suffering and for that I give thanks. In my grief the Lord was very near and for that I give thanks. My family and friends rallied around me making that dark time not only bearable but blessed. Again I give thanks.
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:57 (NKJV)
Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
