If you are serious about overcoming temptation, you will never deliberately put yourself in tempting situations. You will not flirt with danger! You will not overestimate your spiritual strength, nor will you underestimate your propensity for sin. By realistically appraising both your strengths and your weaknesses, you will be able to live within your limits, thus minimizing the risks of yielding to temptation.

Lord Jesus, help us to live circumspectly, fully appreciating the subtlety of temptation and the seriousness of sin. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
