I want to be a critical thinker without becoming a critical person. So, what’s the difference.
A critical thinker examines all the facts, weighs all evidence, before coming to a conclusion.
A critical person is not looking for the truth, rather he is on a fault-finding mission. He has already made up his mind and now he is just searching for anything to confirm his predetermined conclusions. Critical thinkers help us discover the truth while critical people simply attack those they disagree with.
Are you a critical thinker or a critical person?
“Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.”
— Ephesians 5:6 (NIV)
Lord, help us become critical thinkers without becoming critical people. Amen.
