Another key to victory in all your spiritual battles is to make up your mind to obey God no matter what. Sometimes God’s direction can seem foolish to us. For instance, when my inexperience created a crisis in the first church I served, the Lord directed me to conduct a foot washing and communion service just for men. It made no sense to me, but I did it anyway. As I was washing feet Jesus was cleansing our hearts of all hurt and bitterness. By the time we gathered around the Lord’s Table a miracle had happened. Our unity had been restored.
“So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.”

Lord Jesus, help us to take responsibility for our actions and to do everything in our power to be reconciled with those we have offended. Amen.
