What does Christian love look like? It’s caring enough to get involved. It takes a chance on getting hurt or being let down, knowing that taking the risk is better than playing it safe and maybe never knowing either the pain or joy of really loving. Unfortunately, it’s a lot easier to limit our Christian service to safe things without running the risk of getting our hands dirty.

Lord Jesus, teach us to get our hands dirty caring for each other and the world. When we get hurt in love’s service, bind up our wounds and send us back into this messiness we call life. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
