Most of us can probably identify with Bruce Larson who writes, “My life is filled with broken and painful relationships. And if not broken relationships, at least disappointing and unfulfilling ones. The truth of the matter is, we are just not very good at that sort of thing. Although our hearts hunger for it, we can’t seem to get the knack of how to sustain our relationships. We keep hurting those we love and ruining the very thing that is nearest to our hearts. And as we examine our lives, it is probably these relational failures that grieve us the most, especially as we grow older.”
“How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
— Psalm 13:2 (NIV)
and day after day have sorrow in my heart?”
Lord forgive our relational failures and heal those we have wounded. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
