Moses was forty years old the first time he attempted to deliver the Israelites from Egyptian slavery (Acts 7:23-25) and he failed miserably. Which begs the question: “If God called him to deliver His people why did he fail?” There are probably several reasons, but I want to focus on just one—inadequate preparation. He did absolutely nothing to share his vision or to prepare his people to follow him. To be an effective leader you must prepare your team by clearly communicating your vision. Then and only then will they follow your leadership.

“The Lord directs the steps of the godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives.”

— Psalms 37:23 (NLT)

Lord Jesus, help us to see the vision clearly and to communicate it effectively. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
