Facing the deepest despair, we do not lose hope, for we know that God loves us. It matters not how dark the night, nor how great the pain, nor how tragic the sorrow; we know God loves us. In the face of the worst that the evil one can do, we affirm, “I am loved. I am loved. I am loved! And the Lover of my soul is with me.” Therefore we will not fear, for the Lord is our strength and a very present help in the time of trouble (Psalm 46:1).
