Victory over sin was accomplished when Jesus died on the cross. It becomes a present reality in our lives as we “…count [ourselves] dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus,” (Romans 6:11). Sexual sin can only be defeated by a combination of divine deliverance and daily discipline. Without the direct intervention of the Holy Spirit making the finished work of Christ a present reality in our lives, all attempts at spiritual discipline will fail. On the other hand, deliverance is fleeting at best unless it is lived out day by day through spiritual discipline.
“Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”

Lord Jesus teach us to walk in the Spirit lest we succumb to the lust of the flesh. Amen.
