While Daniel’s spiritual character and integrity are to be admired and even emulated, that’s hardly the point. Everything he did was designed to lift up the Lord rather than draw attention to himself. For instance, following his supernatural deliverance from the lion’s den the king wrote.
“In every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel. For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end… he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth.”

Lord Jesus, we want to live a Godly life, one that is pleasing to You. May our lives bring glory to Your name. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
