Jesus repeatedly demonstrated His authority over nature. At the wedding in Cana of Galilee, He turned water into wine (Jn. 2:9). Twice He multiplied a few loaves and fish and used them to feed thousands (Mt. 14:15, Mk. 8:8). Once He walked on the water (Mt. 14:25, Mk. 6:49, Jn. 6:19). Another time He directed Peter to cast his net on the other side of the boat and he caught so many fish his boat almost capsized (Lu. 5:6). That Jesus had authority over nature should not be surprising, after all He is the creator (Jn. 1:3) and it only stands to reason that the creation is subject to the creator.
I suspect that there have been times in your own life when the Lord exercised His authority over nature on your behalf without you even realizing it.
I know that’s been the case in my life. You can live with confidence knowing He has all things under control.
“Say this: ‘GOD, you’re my refuge.
I trust in you and I’m safe!”
