January 1st, 2021

2020 was one of hardest years in recent memory and I’m not sure the end is in sight. The pandemic continues to rage with a record number of new cases nearly every week, and the death toll is staggering. The economic and emotional fallout is taking a dreadful toll. Rather than uniting us the 2020 Presidential election has created more division than anytime since the Civil War. I could continue, but I think you get the point. Don’t despair! Let the words of the apostle Paul encourage you.

“We were under great pressure…so that we despaired even of life…But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God…He will deliver us. On him we have set our hope.”

— 2 Corinthians 1:8, 10 (NIV 1984)

Lord Jesus, You are a very present help in the time of trouble. On you we set our hope. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
