Recent events have laid bare humanities brokenness. Am I the only one who feels overwhelmed? Am I the only one who is tempted to look the other way? Sometimes I am tempted to resent the needy, to blame them for the situations they are in. May God forgive me. May He give me the grace and compassion to be there even when I can’t fix anything. At least I can share their sorrow and their suffering. Maybe my presence will give them that extra little bit of courage they need to go on.
“When he saw the man’s condition, his heart went out to him. He gave him first aid, disinfecting and bandaging his wounds.’
— Luke 10:33 (MSG)
