Although the term “trinity” does not appear anywhere in Scripture the concept is present in both the Old and New Testament. When we speak of the trinity, we are not referring to three Gods, but one God manifest in three persons. Jesus is a coequal member of the Godhead with the Father and the Holy Spirit. We call that the trinity—one God manifest in three persons. How this can be is beyond our limited human intellect. We cannot fully explain it, but we accept it by faith.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

— Matthew 28:19

Lord, renew our minds and increase our faith. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
