John Killinger writes, “When I was in a foreign country once, I had to undergo an operation. The days immediately prior to it were extremely painful ones, and my mind and body were considerably worn by the ordeal. I felt terribly alone…On the day I was to enter the hospital, my wife attended church. She saw a friend who said, `Tell John that I am holding him in my prayers.’ The impact of his words, in my nervous condition, was overpowering, and I burst into tears. I felt deliriously happy. To think he was praying for me. Somehow I was no longer alone.”

“…always keep praying for all the saints. Pray also for me….”

— Ephesians 6:19 (NIV 1984)

Lord Jesus, be very near to those who are in need of prayer. Comfort and strengthen them with Your presence. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
