To live an overcoming life, we must resist the temptation to choose our will over God’s will but that’s not always easy. Having habitually chosen our will over God’s will we have created a tyrant—what I call the almighty I. Our only hope of consistently overcoming temptation lies in defeating this deadly foe. The question is “Who will free us from our slavery to the almighty I? Who will deliver us from the egomaniac within? “Thank God! It has been done by Jesus Christ our Lord. He has set [us] free” (Romans 7:25 LB). That’s the good news!
