I realize that a devotion is supposed to be encouraging and uplifting, nonetheless I come this morning not with a pastoral message or a word of comfort, but with a prophetic warning. I pray my words may be sobering but not shrill. The church and our nation are in great danger, and I feel compelled to raise the alarm. Ezekiel 3:17 (NLT) says, “Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for Israel. Whenever you receive a message from me, warn people immediately.” Ezekiel 33:7 (NLT) continues in the same vein,
“Now, son of man, I am making you a watchman for the people of Israel. Therefore, listen to what I say and warn them for me.”

Lord give us ears to hear Your warning and the courage to respond appropriately. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
