Joy is a many-splendored thing. It’s special moments like births and baptisms, things that only happen once. It’s your sixteenth birthday, turning twenty-one, landing your first job, buying your own car, and seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time. It’s rare and tender moments – getting married and making love, giving birth, becoming a grandparent, growing old with the one you love. Joy is a many-splendored thing.

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

— 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Lord Jesus, help us to treasure all the special moments of our lives. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
