Many people are skeptical about the church and who can blame them. So what can we do? We can focus on restoring credibility by building relationships and meeting felt needs. Well it has been said, “No one cares how much we know until they know how much we care.” Pay attention to what’s going on in the lives of your neighbors and co-workers. Look for opportunities to provide encouragement. Offer a helping hand when the need arises. Let them see how much you care! Let the good Samaritan be your example.

“… as he traveled, [he] came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine.”

–Luke 10:33-34 (NIV)

Lord Jesus, make me a “good Samaritan.” In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
