It’s the day after Christmas and I’m still in awe of what God did in Bethlehem two millenniums ago. Some believers like to fast forward past Bethlehem and go directly to Golgotha or the resurrection. Not me. I like to pause at the manger and reflect. If it weren’t for what happened in Bethlehem there would never have been an old rugged cross. If it weren’t for the incarnation there would never have been a crucifixion or a resurrection. And if Jesus hadn’t become the Son of man we could never have become the sons of God.
“But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.”
— Luke 2:19 (NIV 1984)
Lord help us to be like Mary and treasure up all these things and ponder them. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
