One of the truths Martin Luther declared in his 95 Theses was that “Scripture alone” was the final authority for faith and practice. All things that we learn from other sources must be compared to Scripture, and if they do not match Scripture or if they contradict Scripture, then we must reject them. According to Martin Luther the Scriptures alone are the final and the highest authority. Let us be like the people of Berea who:
“…searched the Scriptures day after day to see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth.”
— Acts 17:11 (NLT)
Lord Jesus don’t let us be deceived by the false teachings that abound in this present age. Instruct us by Your Spirit and ground us in Your infallible Word. Amen.
