On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther, a Catholic priest, nailed his 95 Theses to the door of All Saints Church in Wittenberg, Germany. His arguments, although based on Scripture and conscience, were inflammatory and he boldly declared: “Here I stand, I can do no other!” Four years later a papal decree declared him a heretic and excommunicated him, but as a result of his courageous stand the Protestant Reformation was launched.
What scriptural principle is God asking you to take a stand on?
“Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.”
— Revelation 2:3, 10 (NIV)
Lord Jesus, Give us the courage to be faithful witnesses no matter the cost. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
