The Muravian revival is one of the greatest examples of the power of intercessory prayer. The Muravians began a prayer meeting on August 13, 1727 that continued around the clock, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, without interruption for more than 100 years. Within the first year, the first two Muravian missionaries went to the Virgin Islands and in the two decades that followed, the Muravians sent out more missionaries than all the Protestant and Anglican churches had sent out in the previous 200 years.
