Do you sometimes feel that your life is out of control, that God is conspicuously absent, that you have been left alone to figure things out for yourself? God has not abandoned you, even if it seems He has. Experience has taught me that God’s faithfulness is best seen in retrospect. It is only as we look back over our lives that we realize God was ever-present and that He had a plan even before we had a problem.

Lord Jesus, in the heat of the moment I am tempted to look at my circumstances rather than Your promises. Forgive me. Help me to always focus on Your near presence. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
