As parents, our primary responsibility is the nurture and discipline of our children. When discipline is administered consistently, and balanced with unconditional love, it teaches children respect for God’s authority and for the authority of those He has placed over them. When parents refuse to discipline their children for disrespectful and destructive behavior, they teach them to disregard authority and the rights of others.

Lord, parenting isn’t easy and balancing love and discipline is a constant challenge. Grant us special wisdom and strength. Help us to be the kind of parents our children need. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
