Are you in a difficult place right now? I am. Seven months ago my wife of fifty-six years went to be with the Lord. Her death rocked my world, left me reeling. Friends often ask me how I am doing. I’m tempted to tell them I’m doing fine. Instead, I tell them my heart is breaking, my emotions are all over the place, but my faith is strong. I am grieving deeply but my grief is richly seasoned with the promise of His presence, the hope of eternal life, and the memories of the rich life Brenda and I shared.
“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
— Deuteronomy 31:8 (NLT)
Lord make Your presence known and help us to fear no evil. Amen.
