God wrote the Ten Commandments with His own finger on tablets of stone (Exodus 31:18). The first four commandments deal with our relationship with the Lord. The last six commandments address our relationship with each other. Even if we could keep all ten commandments, which we can’t, that wouldn’t save us, it would not do a thing about the sins we’ve already committed.

Lord Jesus, I cannot keep God’s law and even if I could it wouldn’t save me. You are my only hope. Do for me what I cannot do for myself. Make me righteous. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
