David tells us that the Lord is our shepherd and He will lead us in the way we should go. He will never lead us into temptation or direct us to do things that are contrary to His Word. His special guidance will never violate the clear direction found in the Scriptures. Psalm 23:3 says, “He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name” (NLT emphasis mine). The King James Version puts it this way:
“The Lord is my shepherd…he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”

Lord Jesus, lead me in the way I should go. May my daily walk bring honor to Your name. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
