Rudyard Kipling trusted his intuition to guide him. As Christians we need something more. We need the good shepherd to lead us in the way we should go. He usually speaks in a still small voice (1 Kings 19:12). When that still small voice is silent it usually means no. But when He speaks, even if it is just a soft whisper, it is time to listen and obey. Don’t wait for circumstances to be exactly right or you’ll never do anything. Step out in obedience and do what the Spirit is leading you to do. Jesus said,

“My sheep recognize my voice…and they follow me.”

— John 10:27 (TLB)

Lord Jesus, give us ears to hear Your voice and a will to obey. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
